Ideas For Pep Rally Games & Class Competitions

Tug Of War – Each Grade level picks 5 boys and 5 girls to represent their class.

If You Are Wearing … All students can participate! The pep rally host calls out a list of different items one at a time. After each item is called, whoever is wearing or has the item runs to the center of court. The student who gets to the center first with the item receives a point for their grade level. (Examples: If you are wearing… two different socks, a white belt, a scrunchie, a light blue cell phone case)

Teacher Game – Pop Culture Trivia – Each grade level is represented by a group of selected teachers. The pep rally host reads questions for the groups of teachers to answer on white boards and hold up to the crowd. The teacher team who has the most correct answers wins points for the class they are representing. ( Examples of questions: Name all of the Kardashians. What are Beyonce’s babies names? Finish the following rap song lyric… )

Towel Tug Competition – Quick and simple class competition. Each grade level is represented by two teams of two students. ( 4 per grade, 16 total) The teams who can pull each other across the gym floor the fastest win.

Minute to Win It Games – Several students can represent their grade levels in these competitions. Google search minute to win it pep rally games… you can find several easy competitions!

Dodgeball Tournament – Each grade level has a team of 8 students. Play seniors vs. freshmen, juniors vs. sophomores then host a championship round. Set a time limit per grade.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament – Each grade level has a team of 3 students. Play seniors vs. freshmen, juniors vs. sophomores then host a championship round. Set a time limit per grade.

Teacher vs. Student Basketball Game – Plan in advance! Create a student team made out basketball players (not on basketball team) from every grade level. Email the entire staff for volunteers for the teacher team. * Our Administrators round up old jerseys for the teachers to wear. Make sure to have someone keep the clock, play music and referee the game.

Jimmy Fallon’s Egg Challenge - Select an amount of eggs. The usual amount is 6, as a game of real roulette would have. ...Boil five of the eggs, leaving one egg raw. ...Arrange the refrigerated eggs on a platter inside egg cups or in an egg carton.Line your players up. ...Wait to see who gets the raw egg.

Bubble Soccer – THIS IS THE STUDENT BODY FAVORITE. We switch it up every year! ( Students can play bubble knock out or bubble soccer) Most local businesses charge $250 to rent the bubbles. However, the company will facilitate games, deflate bubbles, and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Human Fooseball – (Supplies can vary. We use pool noodles as poles, rope and a soccer ball) Evenly place the poles across your playing area. Then mark lines onto the floor on either side of each pole (approx. 1.5-2 feet wide) with masking tape or painter's tape. Players holding onto that pole cannot step outside of the marked area. Football Players & Moms Game – Blindfold all the senior football players and seat them in a line. Explain to the players that they will be guessing which member of the Varsity Cheerleading team kissed them on the cheek. However, after they are blindfolded their moms come behind the row of chairs. The moms actually kiss their sons. The student body loves watching the football players guess the cheerleaders.

Wrestler Sumo Suits – Rent local sumo suits for a winter sports pep rally. Have a student represent each grade level in a “ Sumo Wrestling “ competition. The kids love this! The rental costs approximately $150.

Lip Sync Battle – Prior to the pep rally find a team of two students to represent each grade level. The students prepare a lip sync routine to perform in a Lip Sync Battle. Time is limited to two minutes per team.

Sibling Rivalry Games – Pairs of Siblings can compete against each other or as a team against other sets of siblings in minute to win it competitions.

Glow in the Dark Pep Rally – Glow in the Dark Pep Rallies are fun for the entire student body. Students ALL receive glow necklaces when entering the arena. Throughout the pep rally students participate in competitions that can incorporate glow in the dark materials. (Bowling, Dodgeball, Dance Off)
