Hello Parents!

I’m excited to work with your child this Semester. The Computer Lab class in 5th grade is designed to equip students with many of the needed digital and computer literacy skills necessary to prepare for creating, finding, and evaluating data and information. Students will be exposed to a broad range of computer technology along with a working knowledge of computer software and hardware. Students benefit from an understanding of a wide range of applications. Safety, use of technology, social, emotional, career, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skill attainment are embedded throughout the course. 

The students will work in a Computer Lab and must remember the Computer Lab is still a classroom. Students will be expected to follow the same rules enforced in other classrooms. Most importantly students should:

• 1. Stay seated (unless given permission to be out of his/her seat)

  2. Stay eager (growing up around technology does not create a technology expert, be ready to learn)
