Hey there! I’m Chef Parker, your culinary arts instructor and fearless leader in the kitchen! My cooking journey began when I was just 4 years old, whipping up masterpieces (aka messy creations) in my parents' kitchen. By the age of 12, I was determined to go to school for the arts. I played trumpet in the band, which earned me a scholarship to South Carolina State University, but my heart was always in the kitchen.
I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 2005 with an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts and in 2009 earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of South Carolina. From there, I started my career as a work-study student at USC, interned at Quantico, transferred to Ft. Stewart, and eventually found my way back to USC. I transferred into the Lexington Two School District and after a few years at Lex2 and a quick stint in Asheboro City Schools, I’m excited to be back to Lex2 by way of the Innovation Center, ready to cook up some magic with all of you!
When I’m not dreaming up new ways to inspire my students, I’m busy being a proud mom to two amazing boys and the owner of the cutest Goldendoodle puppy known to man. You’ll usually find me up to my neck in recipes, experiments, and ideas to keep our classroom fresh, fun, and a little bit messy!
We’re here to push the boundaries of what’s possible, one dish at a time. So, grab your aprons because we WILL cook, we WILL eat, and we WILL repeat!
Let’s create something delicious!
