You will be encouraged to apply to become part of the Senior Prefect Team. The prefects represent the school at a large number of public events. They are the voice of the sixth form, representing the views of the student body to the Achievement and Leadership teams. The Prefects also organise and run events for the sixth form. There are opportunities for all students to volunteer to represent the school at public events such as parents evenings and open evenings, acting as guides and advocates of the school.
We encourage all students to participate in activities outside the classroom and outside school to broaden their general education. Whilst contributing to their community their powers of leadership and organisation are further developed. The following opportunities are available to you:

Clubs and Societies. Our staff and students deliver a diverse range of clubs and societies to reflect your interests. These include drama clubs, sport clubs and music clubs.
Work experience-valuable work experience opportunities for pupils who wish to apply for medicine, nursing and other health care courses.Seren project-active participation in the Seren programme, a Welsh Government initiative for more able and talented pupils.
A strong programme of university support, including visits from over 30 universities to offer one-to one support to our pupils, plus expert advice and guidance with their university application (UCAS). Equally strong support for pupils who wish to apply for higher level apprenticeships or enter the world of work following Sixth Form.
STEM Opportunities
We offer a wide range of opportunities for students interested in STEM subjects and/ or pursuing a STEM subject at Higher Education. Opportunities have included participation in the Engineering Scheme Wales.
As a school we will broaden your horizons and experiences by inviting in a range of guest speakers. These include speakers from a Speakers4School and Network 75.
