Norway actually has no official motto but the one most used and closest to being the official motto is “alt for Norge” which means “all for Norway”. It sounds like it should be Norway’s motto because if you think about other places mottos like the United States Of America (in god we trust) or France (liberty, equality and fraternity) or Australia (Advance Australia) they are all much alike to All for Norway.
The oldest artifacts in Norway ever found were from 6000 to 9500 bc. One thing in history that Norway is well known for is the Vikings. Viking originally meant a man from the area around the Vik, which was a bay from Cape Lindesnes in Norway to the Göta river in Sweden. In 872 and 900 were the last important and large fights of the Vikings. In 995 the throne was claimed by Olaf I. After Olaf I’s death the country was ruled by other countries until 1030. There were many plagues (like everywhere else in Europe) and wars, but in 1397 Norway, Denmark and Sweden were united. Then in 1814 the constitution was adopted!
Norway was founded in the year 1814. That year the constitution was adopted on May 17. Every year on May 17th there is a celebration to honor the making of their constitution.
There are many reasons to move to Norway! Some reasons that many people think about is how vibrant and adventurous the area is.
