ML workshop information
We're asking MLs to participate in one of these workshops at some point before returning ML forms are posted next year. See below for more information on the relevant workshops depending on whether you're a new or returning ML!
New ML workshop information
We ask our new MLs to either watch the video or read the transcript for one of these racial equity workshops at some point before returning ML forms are posted around May of next year.
Boldly Creating Inclusive Spaces transcript and recording
Drawing on research into antiracist and decolonizing practices in the adult English classroom, this one hour interactive workshop will discuss ways we can make our events boldly welcoming and inclusive for people of non-dominant cultural groups.
Fix Your Posture: Cultivating True Community Partnerships transcript and recording
In this 75 minute interactive workshop, we will learn and discuss how to build genuine, equitable, and inclusive relationships and partnerships with diverse community groups, organizations, and people in your community.
Returning ML workshop information
We're expanding the options available for this workshop! While we still think the Bystander Intervention to Stop Hate Based Harassment and Bystander Intervention to Stop Online Harassment are likely the two most relevant options for MLs, you can take any one of Right to Be's Bystander Intervention or Stand Up workshops, whether live or recorded. We ask that you do this at some point before returning ML forms are posted next year.
I've added a list of all the upcoming workshop times to the ML Support Hub, and will add more dates there as Right to Be announces them. (Of note: one of these workshops is now available in French!)
If you know you won't be able to participate in any of these workshops because of a language barrier, limited internet access for video, accessibility needs not met by a video training, or another barrier to access, please fill out this form so we can work together to find an alternative option.
