Sometimes the mind attempts to solve, predict, prepare, or create certainty during stress, uncertainty, or emotional activation.
The goal is not to stop thinking. The goal is slowing the pace enough to reconnect with the present moment, the body, and awareness.
Consider:
Is the mind trying to solve something?
Is the mind predicting an outcome?
Is the mind replaying something that already happened?
Is the mind searching for certainty?
Is the mind trying to create control?
Awareness often helps create space between thoughts and reactions.
Notice:
What can you see?
What can you hear?
What can you feel physically?
What is happening right now?
The nervous system often responds better to the present moment than imagined future scenarios.
Instead of asking:
What do I need to figure out?
What if something goes wrong?
How do I make this uncertainty disappear?
Try asking:
What am I noticing right now?
What emotion is present?
What sensation is present in the body?
What does the nervous system need right now?
Sometimes slowing down creates more clarity than continuing to search for answers.
