Parent Flyer - Assessment Explanation
How long does the assessment take?
Most students complete DORA (reading) in 30–60 minutes and ADAM (math) in 20–90 minutes, depending on grade level. Because the assessments are adaptive, the time adjusts to each student’s skill level to keep the experience personalized and low-stress.
Can parents see the results?
Yes! You'll get detailed reports that are easy to share with families, helping them understand their child’s growth and goals.
What's the difference between Edge and the assessments?
Assessments are diagnostic tools that identify a student’s current skill levels in reading and math. Edge is our personalized learning platform that uses the assessment data to build a custom learning path for each student—making it easy to target instruction and close gaps.
What if a student scores way above or below grade level?
Our assessments are adaptive, meaning they adjust to each student’s true skill level—whether they’re behind, advanced, or anywhere in between. This ensures tutors get the right data to support students exactly where they are.
Do I need to assign both reading and math?
Not at all! You can choose to assign just reading, just math, or both—whatever fits the student’s needs. Many tutors start with one subject and add the other later. It’s completely flexible to your goals and the student’s learning plan.
