To celebrate World’s Teachers’ Day, the Letran Senior High School Student Council spearheaded the “Minsan sa may Kalayaan” event dedicated to the honorable educators and support staff of SHS for their invaluable contribution to the students held at St. Thomas Hall, October 18.
Weeks in advance, student leaders had began planning for the celebration, which focused on reflecting back and reminiscing the teachers' high school experiences.
The event began with an opening remarks from the LSHSSC President, Mr. Stephen Ray Pastrana, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the ACLE clubs and the council for their efforts in organizing the event.
"There’s no such thing as too late to thank our teachers for their hard work and efforts to make their students progress,” he said, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging each teacher's dedication.
Ms. Chloe Salas and Mr. Jihu Laserna, the masters of ceremonies, hosted fun icebreakers, including "Tumpak Ganern,” which sparked nostalgic feelings among teachers as they reminisce their school days.
The Danza en Ritmo Performing Group also performed "Touch" by Katseye, followed by the Impresarios Guild's enchanting rendition of "A Whole New World” by Ramje Miraflor Jr. and Jannah Jordan.
Following the lively games and performances, the teachers enjoyed their "recess" while watching a touching video greeting from Creative Hub, which featured heartfelt messages from each section. Each teacher was also given personalized love token jars from their advisory class. The celebration also included a raffle draw and photo opportunities to create lasting memories of the day.
‘’Sobrang salamat sa effort ninyo. Ang prayer ko ay patuloy pa rin kayong lumaban sa mga pangarap niyo sa buhay, at nandito lang ako parati para sa inyo,” said Mr. Jerkin Jexel Pedrosa, a Mathematics teacher and the adviser of STEM 12-D, in an earnest thank-you message.
The event concluded with a gift-giving activity as each teacher received their token of appreciation, which their students had previously prepared.
