Grade 12 students from the Home Economics Strand competed in a fruit carving contest held at Salon de Actos on Monday morning, October 28, as part of the SHS Week. The event aimed to showcase the creativity and techniques of HE students in intricate fruit designs.
The event, along with the Art of Nappery that also involved HE students, was hosted by Harshita Singh, a student from HE12A.
The competition featured pairs of students who collaborated to create unique designs, testing their skills in artistry and precision.
“[Yung gawa namin] inspired sa apple sa snow white. Since yung theme is witchy halloween so ginawa namin siya na may witchy and bloody look,” Gabriel Delos Reyes, a student from HE12A stated.
During the competition, the participants crafted designs such as apple skulls, pineapple boo, and spooky cars, perfectly capturing the Halloween spirit of the month.
Out of many contestants, two pairs were hailed as winners: Alexa Nicole Linogao and Jasmine Monsanto as first placers, while Delos Reyes and his partner, Regina Althea Esguerra, won in second place.
