Cybersquires bag 2nd runner-up in E-Summo robotics competition

MAKATI CITY, Philippines—Cyber Squires, the robotics team from the senior high school department composed of STEM12C students Paulo Benedict Mendoza and John Marcel Estillore, together with Cielo Pauline Gomez, successfully clinched the 2nd runner-up medal during the E-Summo Intermediate Open Category held at the University of Makati on December 7, 2024. They were accompanied by their coach and STEM coordinator, Ms. Maria Eliza Bello.
The event was organized by the Erovoutica International Robotics and Automation International Summit and aimed to showcase cutting-edge advancements in the field of robotics and automation.
The powerful trio proved their wits in securing the top three spots with full determination to represent the Philippines outside the country using an automated mechanical robot originally designed and programmed by the squires.
"The possibility to compete in the 13th International Robotics Competition in Oradea, Romania feeds the fire of our determination to secure a spot in this competition," Estillore said in a statement.
The Cyber Squires successfully secured a spot in an international competition after their remarkable victory against the University of Baguio, qualifying them to compete in Oradea, Romania for the 3rd Robolution Robotics and Automation International Competition.
"We hope to receive continued support from our school and our parents to compete internationally representing Colegio de San Juan de Letran and the Philippines," Estillore added.
The team aimed to redefine the legacy of the institution in the fields of robotics and innovation internationally with the help of Letran. The next competitions will be held in Romania, Italy, Turkey, Australia, China, Hongkong, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and the United States of America.
