MANILA, Philippines — Letranites celebrated the last day of Colegio Week 2024 with splashes and vibrant colors as they ran around Intramuros for the annual Run Hueknighted 2024: Shine on, Run Strong on Friday, November 29, 2024.
The fun run was spearheaded by the Letran Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (LJPIA), the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), the Department of Student Affairs (DSA), and the Letran Student Council (LSC).
This event was open to all Letran students, employees, alumni, and outsiders who are accompanied by a Letran student or employee as their plus one.
Before the fun run proper, the participants gathered at St. Thomas Grounds where they officially opened the segment, featuring a ZumbArriba session that warmed up the runners before the race.
”My first Run Hueknighted was fun even if the first lap was painful and I almost gave up but thanks to the people's support and Arriba spirit, I managed to push through and finish the race. Overall, it was memorable as my first year here in Letran,” Nico Dancel from STEM11A shared his experience.
The fun run consisted of two categories: the 3km runners who would cover the entire first lap only and the 5km runners who ran two laps before crossing the finish line.
All laps started from the Letran grounds, passing through Beaterio Street, General Luna Street, and Muralla Street.
Successful participants were given a medal for completing the track and joining the fun run.
This event was shortly followed by the Arriba Fest 2024 in which the runners and other members of the Letran community were treated to a hydro-themed party featuring performances from different artists.
The proceeds of this fun run would be donated to Letran’s partner communities.
