As soon as I stepped in the gates of the Colegio, booming laughter filled with such pleasure bounced off the intricate halls, eyes wandering to different affairs with such potentiality, corridors swarmed with students coming from here and there. The scent of chicken lingering under the noses of students; Mang George’s famous chicken, beloved by all. These are some of the common tales to tell from christened Letranites.
1620, founded by Don Juan Geronimo Guerrero, who envisioned nothing but sincerity and a haven of education to mold orphans to be the hope of tomorrow. Such an unwavering path of bravery and compassion from him that we still carry out nearing 400 years. Aforesaid, an indestructible bond you have formed for brothers and sisters suiting your almost impeccable built. Wonderous stories screaming to be told, yet silenced by the mark you’ve left the Filipino people was astounding indeed. As we’ve shifted into the 21st century, our dearest Colegio proved itself as an unmatched institution. The memories of graduates, students, educators, and personnel, elongated the fondness of yours, in which the Colegio blessed and turned into a never-ending opportunity for all.
“Siempre Arriba! Siempre Letran!''; this catchphrase that defines who we are as a community. This holds our utmost and promising reputation as an institution, screams our vivacious spirit, and one embodiment of Deus, Patria, and Letran. You’ve provided a building that turned into a cozy home, different individuals uniting as one, pushing the youth to reach for the stars, and lectures that turned into enlightenment. We’ve roamed the halls where leaders of our nation once walked, sat at the seats of lawmakers who are battling to change the world, and stood on the podium where influencers once paved their platforms.
As I closed my eyes to such bliss you’ve brought and bestowed onto thousands and thousands, I heard the birds chirped once more, flashing its hue of red, white, and blue, bounded to the trees, whistling your tune as it sheds the leaves to the roots. A light shake from the ground can be felt, whipped up from the steps of many, chitter chatters of life-long stories. A vision of a scenario to come about, soon, in the Colegio.
