A light walking on the vast world

Powerless, hungry, oppressed, and drowning in debts. Swimming beneath and underneath the line of poverty can make individuals do such crimes, acts, and sins that are judged quickly. Warm, cozy, fed, and in bed, the majority of would never have to worry for the next meal it would be consuming.

There are times in darkness when things may seem as endless and no hope at all, however Ms. Jehan Amethyst Rint, an alumna of Colegio de San Juan de Letran of Manila, a degree holder of BS Psychology, a registered Psychometrician, proved that even in the darkest days a glimpse of light can be foreseen that leads to a never ending flame of hope.

We’ve seen all the possible horrid situations here in our country land during the pandemic. From riots of the people, incompetency of the people as well as the government, shortage of food, water, financial help, personal protective gears of the front liners, and much more. As we see the numbers of confirmed cases going up and up each day, depicts that anything can spontaneously happen, whether good or bad.

Someone had to step up to change even the slightest dark for some Filipinos and that is what Ms. Rint did. Some of us will go all out in order to supply and stock our pantries while others are looking for a way to even buy the necessities. That urged Ms. Rint to change it.

She has and still is distributing goods to numerous people of all ages and even covered the food for stray animals on the streets. Ms. Rint wants to show compassion to our own brothers and sisters and that we must act upon the need of help right now. We may show it in our own different ways yet it doesn’t matter how. It all comes down at the end of the day and that you did something for someone and that simple accomplishment meant a great deal for them.

“Sometimes a simple little thing like this can make their day a little better, most especially love. Find ways to express your love to others, they might then do the same for others. Doing acts of kindness doesn’t require a lot of money and energy, it doesn’t always take up your time.” Ms. Rint stated.

As we look on to the rest of the days of the pandemic, Ms. Rint would like for us to help without expecting anything in return. Just simple smiles and wholesome thank you’s from those who were received aid are enough to make sure that all your hard work aren’t wasted.
