Methane Recovery Plant Tour: Jason Rice from EPUD (541-335-9873) - Tour of the methane recovery plant
BRING runs tours of their facility the dump and the co-gen plant. This is a much shorter view of the landfill and co-gen plant, but you also get to see BRING's faciltiy and the Glenwood Recieving station. This one is more focused on recycling.

Nature Journaling – Drawing and recording scientific observations of different plants and animals found in the forest (MS/HS)
Plot surveys (using a quadrat) – Using a square frame to survey different elements of the forest (MS/HS)
Tide pool surveys – looking for percent coverage, amounts of certain species, comparing different zones of the tide pools
Forest surveys – coverage of vegetation directly next to a trail vs. further in the forest, invasive species vs. native species

English Ivy on the Captain Cook Trail at Cape Perpetua – could have a designated class for this throughout the year
Scotch Broom in the Oregon Dunes
Foxglove and other invasives on the Discovery Loop at Cape Perpetua – could loop in our botany team
Soil Life Discovery Kit – look for invertebrates in the soils in different locations in the forest (MS)
Water Quality – search for macroinvertebrates, test pH level, etc (MS/HS)
Tree Ring Analysis – looking for signs of forest and climate change (MS)
Bio-Blitzes – identifying and cataloging different types of species on the iNaturalist app (MS/HS)
Birds, tidepool creatures, fungi in the Fall
