Varsity and Head Coach: Andrew Sullivan
Varsity and Head Coach: Andrew Sullivan
Coach Sullivan is finishing his fourth year of full time coaching at Florida Elite Soccer Academy in Tallahassee. During that time he completed his US Soccer National “C” Coaching License in February 2023, and enrolled in the US Soccer National “B” Coaching License that began in July 2024.
His main focus over the last few years has been with the development of Academy players (U8-U10), where he has served as the Director of the Academy Program.
Coach Sullivan has also worked with a variety of age groups on both Boys and Girls teams. He has proudly served as the assistant for 2 Florida Elite teams including the 08 Girls NPL team and the 05/06 ECNL-RL Boys team. He also served as the Assistant Coach for the Varsity Boys team at Leon High School under Coach John Holgan.
Assistant Varsity Coach: Matthew Javier Sanchez Smith
Assistant Varsity Coach: Matthew Javier Sanchez Smith
Originally from Long Valley, New Jersey, Coach Sanchez has been playing soccer ever since he could walk. In addition to his role as Leon's JV Coach, he also dedicates time to coaching the next generation of younger players at Florida Elite. Through his work with several soccer camps, including in Spain and at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Coach Sanchez has built an extensive knowledge of goalkeepers and attacking formations. Soccer has always been his passion, and Coach Sanchez looks forward to growing with the Leon team and helping to build a successful program! GO LIONS!
Junior Varsity Coach: Madeline-Anne Kopka
Junior Varsity Coach: Madeline-Anne Kopka
Raised in Tallahassee and Valencia, Spain, Coach Kopka has played for several club teams, including Florida Elite, JFC Elite Clubs National League, and The Texans. She is currently studying thanatology and plans to eventually go to law school.
