What's in the safe in the hallway in between the office and room 101
By Wesley Martinez - 7th Grade
In between the office and room 101 on the first floor there is a mysterious safe. The safe is the same height as the classrooms surrounding it. Maybe it could be a brand new classroom If we could crack the safe and break down that door. Some say that it holds old records from the old days which would be totally cool if we could all see it, we could see essays from the 1930’s ancient paintings, old fashioned school supplies and so much more. It could be a museum showing off all these records where we could go in our freetime. It could even be a new library because the old one got removed to make room for the 5th graders If you want all the details the new library idea check out my article through this link. https://sites.google.com/leoniaschools.org/thelionsroarschoolnewspaper/featured-stories/lms-lion-news
This safe has so much potential and one day someone could open it and finally reveal what it truly is.

Taylor Swift Opens Up!
By Sophia Jorge - 8th Grade
Many people have heard of Taylor Swift but not many people were able to actually see her in person. Thankfully, I was given the opportunity to share her story with the world through a one on one interview. I'm here at her penthouse in New York waiting for her. The view from her penthouse overlooking all of New York is fantastic. Taylor Swift was born and raised in 1989, in Pennsylvania. She is known for being the most famous pop and country singer in the world. She has been nominated for over 500 awards and has won 324. This is an astonishing amount of awards especially given her young age.
A few minutes passed before Taylor Swift came in holding hands with Travis Kelce.Travis Kelce is her most recent boyfriend, for seven months now. He is an NFL player for the Kansas Chiefs.
“Hello, you must be Sophia,” she said. She sat down, crossed her legs and I noticed her exclusive diamond high heels that Travis Kelce gave her for her 34th birthday. Travis sits on a chair nearby while admiring Taylor as the interview quickly begins
“Hi, I am. Thank you for meeting with me today. I wanted to start our interview off by describing at what age did you start knowing you wanted to be a singer?” I said. She thought for a little before describing the moment she knew what she wanted to be. “At the age of nine, I started taking vocal and acting lessons in New York City. I later decided to shift my focus toward country music. And now I am here,” she said with a big smile.
Moving on, to get to know Taylor a little better, ”What were your favorite and least favorite subjects throughout school?” I said while taking down notes from our interview. Taylor looked around her penthouse and leaned into what looked like an almost whisper.
“This might surprise most people, but my favorite subject was Algebra. I was a good student and liked to do math all throughout school up until I became known as a singer and had to be homeschooled. However, this might be even a more shock, since my least favorite class was gym,”
“Wow, that is very surprising but I’m glad you were able to enjoy math as a kid,” I said, still very shocked by what Taylor had said.
After recovering from that shocking news, I look through my paper to ask another interesting question. “What was your favorite album and song you made?”
“I love all the songs I write, although Anti-Hero is one of my favorites as I really enjoyed writing. This is because this song really is a real guided tour throughout all of the things I tend to hate about myself,” she says quickly, like she already knew what to say.
“ Wow, I really have to admit I did love that song, but I happen to love all your songs also,” I say smiling and laughing.
“My favorite album has to be folklore which I made during quarantine. This is probably my favorite because I got to express who I really am as a person. I even added seven songs from this album to the Eras Tour movie,” she added once I was done talking. I nodded my head and noticed the time.
“Now to end this interview, I want to ask you a very important question. What is some advice you would give to all the people in the world and those who want to become a singer?”
“If I had to give the world advice, it would probably be to never give up. Even when you think you are alone, you should know you never are. Someone is always going to be there and stand by you. So always chase after your dreams…… Someone wise once told me that being fearless does not mean you have no fears but instead you jump anyway,” she said.
This is a very inspiring quote and all I could do was nod my head and smile. Taylor was smiling back and almost had tears in her eyes. Like this quote meant something very meaningful and special to her.
“I am so grateful you shared your story with the world and me. Thank you so much,” I said and she smiled happily while turning to leave.
This concludes the feature story with Taylor. If you want to hear more about Taylor Swift and her 10 awesome albums, scroll to the next page.
