The Big Bank Digital 2021

Big Bang Digital is back for 2021, bigger and better than last year! The event will take place over 3 days, from Wednesday 23 June to Friday 25 June. It will feature a mix of live and pre-recorded sessions around the theme building a brighter and greener future through STEM. LGfL DigiSafe - Online Tutors Guidance for parents and Carers

As all pupils return back to school, a reminder that many parents will still be continuing with extra tuition to help their children catch up with work. LGfL have produced a Guidance for Parents and Carers flyer to highlight vital safeguarding considerations and practical tips to help select the right tutor and establish clear rules to ensure a safe and productive learning experience.

London Youth Games Virtual Spring Finals

London Youth Games are excited to announce that this year they will be holding virtual Spring Finals! Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th March would have been the days when they welcomed schools to Redbridge Sports Centre for two days of competition and festivals at the School Games Spring Finals. Whilst they are unable to bring everyone together in person this year, they didn’t want young people across London to miss out so they have created a virtual offer for schools to get involved in and to celebrate all young Londoners getting together to be active! London Youth Games Virtual Dance

London Youth Games has launched a Virtual Dance event in partnership with Step Change Studios to give all young Londoners the opportunity to stay active, represent their borough and express themselves during the pandemic.

LYG Virtual Dance will run for six weeks, with each week dedicated to a different style of dance. Dance professionals will introduce the different styles, sharing their favourite moves and inspiring young Londoners to create their own routines.

Videos showcasing the different styles will be released every Saturday at 10am. Young Londoners will then have until Friday at 12pm to get involved and confirm their participation via the LYG website. Participants are also encouraged to share videos of their routines for the chance to win the MVP Award and Nike prizes. See the website for more details.

World's Largest Lesson

World's Largest Lesson promote use of the Sustainable Development Goals in learning so that children can contribute to a better future for all. From citizenship and justice to climate change and the environment, inspire children to make a difference! Earth: It's Everybody's Home is a great activity where pupils use Google Earth tools to explore the natural world and learn more about the work of youth activists for climate change around the world. In support of LGfL's ReadingZone Live site, BusyThings have recently added 11 new activities: Design a book jacket, review and character profile projects for 'Wreck of the Zanzibar', 'Lizzie Zipmouth' and 'Pugs of the Frozen North' plus labelling the Scilly Isles and the Turks and Caicos Islands (part of a new islands section in Geography but associated with Wreck of the Zanzibar).

There are also grammar tool updates to the remaining KS1 books.

Girls in Computing Remote Conference - 25th May

The conference will provide primary and secondary teachers with the following opportunities:

Literacy Trust | My Dear New Friend

Help your pupils make someone's day with the Literacy Trust's writing project, My Dear New Friend. This is a project that encourages children to write letters to people living in care homes. Writing letters makes children feel happy and helps them express their feelings.
