We value the importance of each child being an individual and understand that they are on their own ‘unique’ learning journey. We believe that children's first experience of school, or a new setting, has a big impact on how they settle and subsequently their feelings about school. It is for this reason that we invest time in providing home visits to all children.
Reception staff visit families prior to children starting school to gain a full understanding of the whole child. This also gives an opportunity for parents to share valuable information, promote a smooth entry to Nursery and help build a positive relationship between school and home.
We recognise the following benefits of home visits:
Building relationships
Linking the child’s learning from home and the setting
Assist parents/carers and staff to observe and gain understanding of their child’s skills/interest
The gathering of information
Smoother transition
8:30am - 8:40am

Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:
promotes a sense of pride in the school;
engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school;
is practical and smart;
identifies the children with the school;
prevents children from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting in class;
makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents;
is designed with health and safety in mind
