RECEPTION & NURSERY RHYME WEEK
Monday 11th - Friday 15th November 24
We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating Nursery Rhyme Week from Monday 11th November to Friday 15th November 2024.
During this week, we will be exploring and learning about various nursery rhymes through fun activities, songs, and stories. We believe that nursery rhymes are a wonderful way to introduce children to language, rhythm, and storytelling.
On Monday 11th November, Nursery & Reception only will be taking part in a dress up day where your child can dress up as their favourite nursery rhyme character. This is a great opportunity for them to be creative and have fun expressing themselves.
Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions. We look forward to a wonderful week of nursery rhymes!
Kind Regards,
The EYFS Team
YEAR 3 STONEAGE SLEEPOVER
Friday 8th November 24
We are excited to announce our upcoming Year 3 Stone Age Sleepover! This evening will be a prehistoric adventure for your child with them getting to immerse themselves in activities such as shelter building, scavenger hunts and much more.
The sleepover will take place on Friday 8th November 2024. On the day, we ask you to collect your child as normal at the end of the day. They will then need to return to school at 7pm in their pyjamas with the following:
a warm coat and appropriate footwear as some activities will be taking place outside
a spare blanket for shelter building
a torch
a pillow and a sleeping bag (or equivalent)
a mat to sleep on
a cuddly toy (if they wish)
toothbrush and toothpaste
Please do not provide snacks for your child as all food will be supplied, including a hot drink before bed and breakfast in the morning. There will also be no need to send a change of clothes as children will leave in their pyjamas when being collected.
Please complete this form by Friday 25th October to confirm your child’s participation in the trip. We also ask you to please make a payment of £3 on Arbor/Activities/Trips to help cover the costs of the sleepover.
Collection and Drop off Locations
Please drop off your child at the main office on Friday night at 7pm. Please collect your child at 8am on Saturday morning from the Year 1 steps. If you do not wish your child to stay, they can be collected at 10pm on Friday night from the main office.
RECEPTION STORYTELLING WORKSHOP
Tuesday 12th November 24
We have some wonderful activities planned for your children this Autumn term, including:
Early Years’ Story Hunt - Fairy Tales Storytelling Workshop: Tuesday 12th November 2024.
In Autumn 2, your child will be taking part in an engaging storytelling workshop as part of our ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic at school. The children will go on an imaginary journey to discover and explore favourite fairy tales such as ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘The Gingerbread Man’, ‘The Ugly Duckling’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Using songs, rhymes and activities, the children learn different tales and about the importance of storytelling. They'll embark on an exciting imaginary journey filled with songs and rhymes!
The cost of this workshop is £6 per child.
You can pay through the Arbor online system.
We're confident that your children will thoroughly enjoy these experiences. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation!
CHILDREN IN NEED
Friday 15th November 24
We are excited to announce that we will be supporting Children in Need on Friday 15th November. Children are invited to come to school in non-uniform, wearing yellow or spots, and to donate to this worthy cause. You can donate online here or by sending in a cash donation with your child next Friday.
Thank you for your support!
YEAR 1 MAGICAL TOY WORKSHOP
Wednesday 27th November 24
As part of the children’s topic, 'The Magic Toymaker’, for this half term, we have arranged a 'Magic Toy Museum' workshop to take place in school.
In this interactive workshop, the children will meet someone impersonating a museum curator, using drama activities such as role play and tableaux to explore various different types of toys. The children will visit different rooms in the ‘museum’ to find out about different types of toys from the past century or so.
If you have any questions, please contact your child's class teacher or the office.
The cost of the Trip is £5 and needs to be paid by Friday 15th November
Please log onto your child's Arbor account to make payment under Activities/Trips.
