Welcome to Lenna's Ledgers.
This is my personal web site and presents some of my photography, recipes, ideas and some other stuff.
I am a British software engineer with over 25 years professional experience and a graduate of The University of Edinburgh (BSc (Joint Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science - class of 1997). I am a bit of a generalist when it comes to my work and while my career has been software centric my knowledge and experience is much broader.
I have practical experience in a number of programming languages including C/C++, C#, Ada, Java, JavaScript, VHDL, and SQL (among others). I have worked on a variety of projects from logistics systems to man-in-the-loop classroom and replica trainers to signal processing systems to software used for video/image processing and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
My personal interests include all things related to computers and technology in general, mythology, religion, comparative cultures, photography, digital art, cooking, astronomy, astrology, and much much more.
My professional career has taken me to various places around the world and as a result some of my photos were made possible courtesy of one employer or another (but not at the expense of getting the job done which is why I don't have photos from everywhere I have been with work).
The background picture of this page is a digital scan of a photo I took (with a 35mm film camera) of Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK from Princes Street in the late 1990's.
