Art Club meets weekly in room N313. Each year we take a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, create artwork for public spaces around LHS, sketch at the Lemont Quarries, tie-dye T-shirts, and create positive message chalk drawings on the sidewalks outside LHS and create art!Â

Chess functions as a competitive team that strives to be the best team it can be. We play chess, we talk chess, and some us live chess. We are always striving to be better players. We also compete against other schools and attend tournaments. Students who play chess always seem to have great grades in school. Chess club begins in early September after school. Meetings will be Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in S411, anyone is welcome!Â
Choir is a group for any high school student who enjoys singing. There is no audition required to be a part of the group. Choir meets 1st hour on G days. There are various genres of repertoire learned each year, including jazz, pop, broadway, classical, etc. We have 4 formal concerts per year, as well as other performances including the LHSEF's Taste of Lemont and District 113A's Choral Concerts. We also participate in ILMEA District Auditions, IHSA Solo & Ensemble and IHSA Large Ensemble, JWHSCC, and this year will be taking a trip to the Chicago Civic Opera House.Â

Any junior is welcome to be a part of the “Junior Class Representatives” club regardless of whether they were involved in the freshman or sophomore class representative group. Be a part of a club that creates memorable events throughout the year for the Homecoming Dance and Junior/Senior Prom. Additionally, the Junior Class Reps rally their peers for homecoming activities and promote fundraisers as well as camaraderie throughout the year.Â

In Group Interpretation, groups of three or more students interpretively present literature by creating an ensemble performance showcasing their interpretive skills both as individuals and a group without the aid of costumes, make-up, set or props. Selections can be from literary forms ranging from prose to speeches to original material or even movie scripts.This activity is uniquely its own and unlike any other performance based activity at Lemont High School.Â
