Much Ado About Nothing

During the Spring of 2021 the Leland and Gray Players filmed their production of Much Ado About Nothing, and submitted it to the New England One Act Festival.

Conrade (Ruby Hallenbeck), Don John (Spencer Butynski), and Borachio (Catherine Shine) plot against EVERYONE.

Benedick (Deven Wicker) complains about being bullied to Don Pedro (Victoria Mackay).

Benedick eavesdrops on Leonato (Alice Coyne), Claudio (Callie Wicker), and Don Pedro as they trick Benedick into love.

Claudio, Leonato, and Don Pedro laugh at a love-sick Benedick.

Leonato grows tired of the long-winded Dogberry (Peter Broussard) and his trusty side-kick, Verges (Fiona Scott).

A truly horrible wedding, with Beatrice (Emma Stover), Leonato, Hero (Abbey Hazelton), Friar Francis (Fiona Scott), Claudio, Don Pedro, Benedick, and Don John.

Hero is wrongly accused!

Hero faints, and her father hopes that she never wakes up! Then a plan is hatched where it is decided that they will pretend that hero "is dead indeed"!

Benedick vows to seek revenge for the wrongfully accused Hero, even if it means killing his best buddy, Claudio.

Two Watchmen (Stephen Shine and Marley Felker) apprehend a couple villains and bring them to Dogberry, the Sexton (Spencer Butynski), and Verges.

Antonio (Peter Broussard) and his brother Leonato accost Claudio and Don Pedro, accusing them of killing the pretend-dead Hero.

Borachio confesses to bringing about the death of Hero (who is totally alive) and Dogberry does some math on his fingers.

Leonato pretends to be all upset about the death of his daughter, and promises Claudio his niece in marriage.

Beatrice is very sad because her best friend, Hero, has been wronged, but Benedick reveals that he is in love with her, to which she admits that she is in love with him too!

URSULA (Isabella Bowen)

Madam, you must come to your uncle. Yonder's old coil at home: it is proved my Lady Hero hath been falsely accused, the prince and Claudio mightily abused; and Don John is the author of all, who is

fed and gone. Will you come presently?

BEATRICE

Will you go hear this news, signior?

BENEDICK

I will live in thy heart, die in thy lap, and be buried in thy eyes; and moreover I will go with thee to thy uncle's.
