Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble whose members are currently enrolled in the Chorus course. Auditions for the 2021-2022 school year will take place at the beginning of the second semester. Chamber Choir performs a cappella music from a variety of traditions, typically at an advanced high school level. Members will perform at the pops concert in the spring.

High School Jazz Band

The high school jazz band plays a variety of jazz and contemporary music. It is open to students who play the instruments that are in the traditional big band. It rehearses once a week for the whole school year. It plays several concerts including the Winter Concert and the Pops Concert. You must be a member of the Band to be in the High School Jazz Band.

Middle School Jazz Band

Middle School Jazz Band plays big band jazz. It is open to middle school instrumentalists as well as high school musicians who are not in the high school jazz band or who are playing second instruments. They rehearse once a week in the second semester and play at the Pops Concert at the end of the year. You must be a member of the Band to be in the Middle School Jazz Band.

Tri-M Honor Society Chapter #8020

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership. Through more than 4,500 chartered chapters, Tri-M has helped thousands of young people provide years of service through music in schools throughout the world.

Leland & Gray Union High School's chapter of Tri-M includes approximately 10-15 members. Students become eligible at the start of their 9th grade year and are nominated by a committee based on character, leadership, and scholarship. Members meet weekly to plan service projects, fundraisers, and community outreach events.
