As we approach the end of the Academic year, It has been wonderful to reflect on all of the successes and achievements of the Airy community. The past two modules have been a highlight with a wide range of co-curricular activities taking place at LAB involving so many of our Airy students
Airy Student Celebrations
LAB Lit Fest, LAB and LAT sports days, Design Exhibition, Summer Showcase, Battle of the Bands, UK Maths challenge, Business Language Champions, demonstrated that we have many extremely talented students in Airy college who continue to surprise us with their dedication and commitment. Year 11, GCSEs & Prom
We would like to mention the excellent conduct of our Year 11s in Airy during their GCSE exam period. Year 11 Prom was a huge highlight of the year to so many students and staff. We would like to thank Nuala Y12 and Miss Florey for all of her ongoing efforts to support the organisation of Prom. Thank you to our committed Year 11 tutors, Miss Highlands and Miss Heslop. We look forward to celebrating with our Year 11’sl on results day 22nd August 2024.
Each module in Airy, we celebrate and recognise students who have consistently demonstrated the LAB values of Ambition, Integrity, Resilience, Scholarship and Respect. These are recognised by our college community by inviting them to an end of module celebration breakfast, and this module we gave out end of year certificates chosen by Airy staff.
Attendance
Airy college attendance ends the year with a year to date attendance figure of 93%, which continues to be above national average. We are extremely proud of our students who have worked hard to ensure they are regularly attending school.
Airy tutor group attendance figures:
7C = 94.37% 8C = 89.36% 9C = 95.00% 10C = 90.15% 11C = 90.48%
7F = 94.06% 8F= 91.15% 9F = 90.06% 10F = 93.09% 11F = 91.46%
Merits
Sadly Airy college has also finished third on the whole Academy leader board for merits. Although, impressively Airy students merits totaled an impressive 36364 merits.
Airy tutor groups have been competing to receive the most merit totals each week. Merits are given to students who are demonstrating our LAB values.
We are very pleased to announce that 7F Tutor group are our overall winners with the most amount of merits.
In addition to merit totals, it is important that we recognise conduct points. Conduct points are the total number of merits vs demerits.
Year 10 Work Experience
We were very proud of our Y10 students throughout their work experience placements. The feedback we have received for all Airy Y10 students has been very positive. We hope that the experience has allowed our Y10 students an inghit into the working world.

Airy Goodbyes......
As we come to the end of another Academic year we are sad to say goodbye to some members of the Airy community.
We would like to say a huge thank you . You will all be missed by everyone at LAB .
