Students are expected to be in full uniform at all times throughout the Academy day and when travelling to/from school in line with our Home/Academy Contract.
Please ensure that you label all school uniform items with the students full name.

Blazer: Navy blue Boys/Girls Blazer with Academy Crest
Jumper: Navy 50/50 Cotton/Acrylic V Neck Jumper with Academy Crest
Trouser/Skirt: Steel grey signature classic trouser or pleated skirt (Skirts must be worn on the knee)
Shirt: White button up shirt
Socks/Tights: Plain navy or grey
Shoes: Black leather shoes (Kickers’ boots are accepted) - Trainers, shoes with heels or long boots are not permitted
Sports Polo with Academy Crest
Sports Shorts/Skort or tracksuit bottoms
Navy Sports Socks
PE Bag with Academy Crest (Optional)
Trainers - (Plimsolls or Converse-style canvas shoes are not appropriate and not permitted)
Leigh Academy Blackheath is split into three separate colleges which were named by our founding Year 7 students in 2018. The three colleges are identified by their unique college colour of either red, turquoise or green. Details of your child's college membership will be issued in due course.
Each Year 7 student will be issued with a tie in their college colour when they attend our upcoming Headstart Day.

Leigh Academy Blackheath's uniform is available to purchase either online from Khalsa Schoolwear or Brigade.

The deadline for ordering online is 2nd August 2024 to ensure delivery before the start of term.
A school uniform grant is available to students if they meet the qualifying criteria. The academy will issue a voucher, to be spend at our clothing store, Khalsa.

Students are required to be fully equipped at all times with the following;
Pens (Black or Dark Blue)
Pencils and coloured pencils
Ruler (30 cm)
Rubber
Highlighter pens
Maths set
Mini dictionary/thesaurus (optional)
Scientific calculator (to be used everyday in Maths & Science)
A foreign language dictionary will also be required (Students will be advised further by their MFL teacher)
A strong bag big enough to carry books and equipment (plastic carrier bags are inadequate)
A strong bag to carry an outdoor coat or P.E kit
We also highly recommend a Chromebook case to be purchased when your child receives their device. A padded one is often popular with our pupils as it gives extra protection (Please wait for further details are given for info on the make and model).
No discernible make up, bright hair colouring or patterned extensions are allowed
No eyeshadow or lipstick
No coloured nail varnish, false nails or acrylic nail extensions
No extreme haircuts
No eyebrow shaving
Should not be worn or brought to school with the exception of a wristwatch, one small ring and one pair of small stud earrings.
Any other jewellery including bracelets, necklaces, nose/lip/tongue/ eyebrow piercings are not permitted. Any prohibited jewellery worn to school will be confiscated, placed in a named envelope and stored in the academy safe in readiness of parent/carer collection.
Computer tablets, small music players i.e. MP3 players/iPods and mobile phones are not allowed to be used or seen in the Academy at any time of the day including break and lunch times unless permission is granted by a senior leader. If your child does wish to bring in a device, they must:
Switch the device off before entering the academy campus
Have the device stored out of sight in their school bag
Any student who does not comply with these rules will have their device confiscated in readiness of parent/carer collection at the end of the day.
Leigh Academy Blackheath will not accept responsibility for the loss or damage to any personal jewellery or electronic device items as these are brought to the Academy at the students’ own risk.
