We are thrilled to announce that the 2022 Society for Developmental Biology Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting will take place on May 2 -3 in the Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University! This in-person gathering will be conducted with best-practice pandemic mitigation measures in place.
Virtual meeting attendance through Zoom, including access to live oral presentations and the education session, will be available for community members unable to convene in-person.
We are assembling a dynamic group of invited faculty speakers whose work speaks to an expansive view of developmental biology, across many research organisms and all life cycle stages. In keeping with the regional character of the meeting, our invited speakers hail from institutions across the Mid-Atlantic states. In addition, we seek to highlight new work from trainees and early career investigators, groups bearing the gravest impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our program will include at least 20 oral presentations selected from the abstracts, again with an emphasis on giving voice to trainees at all career stages. In-person, regional trainee attendees (undergraduate through postdoctoral stages) will be given preference for oral presentations. In-person attendees at all career stages will be eligible to present at a poster session; virtual attendees will neither be able to present nor to attend the poster session.
Prizes will be awarded for Postdoctoral, Graduate, and Undergraduate presentations for eligible trainees (current SDB members, with dues paid in full prior to the May 2022 meeting). The top prize is up to $1000.00 USD to attend the 81st Annual Society for Developmental Biology conference, held jointly with the Pan-American Society for Evolutionary Developmental Biology, in Vancouver, Canada, from July 17th - 20th, 2022.
We look forward to a safe and exciting reunion!
