The mission of the Office of Residence Life is to cultivate a supportive residential community at Lehigh that values student growth through peer connection, community belonging, and personal wellbeing.
The Office of Residence Life achieves its mission by empowering students to be an active and accountable member of their learning community; one that prioritizes safety and respectful dialogue which strengthens an inclusive living environment on-campus. This is done through fostering a student-centered leadership program in the Gryphon Society and a curricular approach to community development.
At Lehigh, the Office of Residence Life is a part of the Dean of Students Office, that sits within the Division of Student Affairs. The fundamental role of the Student Affairs team is to support and enhance the University's educational mission, and each office within the Division is committed to a comprehensive approach to supporting students' intellectual and personal development. The Division of Student Affairs is home to 20 offices that support the co-curricular needs of students at Lehigh.
