The Gryphon Application

The Gryphon Application for all Gryphon positions is opening on October 1st. 

For the 2025-2026 New Gryphon Selection Process, the application will remain open until Friday, October 25th at 4:00 PM. 

For Returning Gryphons & Head Gryphons, your application will close on Monday, December 9th at 8:00 AM.

Late submissions will NOT be accepted. The application must be submitted through the Qualtrics form and you will receive a copy of your responses for your reference.

New Gryphon Selection Requirements:

In order for prospective candidates to be eligible for hiring consideration, they must complete the following:

Seminar Explanation:

The purpose of the Gryphon seminar is to provide opportunities for candidates to best understand the Gryphon role and also provide an opportunity for staff to assess the candidate's ability to work in a team setting. Seminar will consist of asynchronous modules and two (2) 90-minute sessions facilitated by professional staff members and current Gryphons. During these sessions, candidates will participate in group activities and discussions. Gryphon Seminars will focus on leadership skills, creating an inclusive community, and collaborating and working cohesively with others in your group. If you are absent from any session and/or do not complete the asynchronous seminar, you will not be able to continue in our process.

Asynchronous Seminar will take place the weeks of October 28th November 3rd and the in-person seminar sessions will take place the weeks of November 11th and November 18th.

Returning Gryphon/Head Gryphon Selection Requirements:

In order for current Gryphon candidates to be eligible for hiring consideration, they must complete the following:

Virtual Portfolio Explanation:

As a returning Gryphon/Head Gryphon, it is important that you are able to demonstrate what you've learned in the Gryphon/Head Gryphon position so far and explain why you'd like to return. Please submit a portfolio that reflects your time as a Gryphon/Head Gryphon and 2025-2026 goals you have should you be returned to the position. Be sure to highlight events you planned, G-chats you held, community initiatives (bulletin boards, advertisements, etc.), [HG project/committee work], and any personal/academic/professional accomplishments or challenges you'd like to share. 

Format: Your submission can be in any format (Link to presentation, Google Doc, PDF, Prezi, PowerPoint, Voice Over, etc.) and any length as long as all aspects of the prompt are answered.

New Head Gryphon Selection Requirements:

In order for current Gryphon candidates to be eligible for Head Gryphon hiring consideration, they must complete the following:

Head Gryphon Interview Explanation:

As a part of the interview process, you will schedule a 45 minute interview with members of the Residence Life Professional Staff. The interview will also include a 10-minute presentation that can be in any desired format (not limited to a PowerPoint presentation). You will present on the following topics-

After the presentation, the group will have the opportunity to ask you questions based on your presentation and ask you additional interview questions. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions. Interview sign-ups will be sent out in December and will take place the first four weeks of the spring 2025 semester.
