Santa Barbara County Library Ad Hoc Committee

A history and archive of information developed and collected by the County Library Ad Hoc Committee since 2019

Background

The Santa Barbara County Library Ad Hoc Committee was created by the Board of Supervisors in October 2018 to address persistent budget challenges and funding requests needed to keep libraries open. The purpose of the committee was to outline a path to a sustainable and equitable finance and governance system for county libraries. This site is meant to document and share the work of the Committee so that further efforts to improve the system can build on the work accomplished to date.
