2018-2019 Annual Plan

1. Introduction

The purpose of the Legacy Laveen Annual PTO Plan is to serve as a guide for all PTO actions for the duration of the school year. This Annual Plan is to be drafted and approved annually as outlined in the Legacy Traditional PTO Policies and Procedures. Modifications may be made to the Annual Plan as described in the PTO Policies and Procedures.

2. Meeting Schedule

PTO meetings take place in accordance with the PTO Policies and Procedures. Two types of meetings are scheduled on a regular monthly basis, 1. Board Meetings and 2. PTO Member General Meetings.

2.1 Board Meetings

Board Meetings will take place monthly. They will occur prior to all PTO Member General Meetings each month at a determined time in accordance with the PTO Policies and Procedures.

2.2 PTO Member General Meetings

PTO Member General Meetings will take place monthly. They will occur on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. (with the exception of August and January Meetings). Prior notice will be published in the weekly newsletter and reminders will be placed on campus the day of.

3. Goals

The Laveen PTO has identified the following goals to help support the school. These goals are a collaborative effort between LTS administration and the PTO.

• Maintain 501c3 status with the IRS.
• Volunteerism Goal: Increase parental involvement by offering more opportunities to participate in PTO and school functions.
• Fundraising Goal: $25,000 – Outdoor Sports Scoreboard and Multipurpose Stage Improvements.
• Community Building Goal: Increase school and extended community’s awareness and involvement of Legacy’s opportunities and activities.
• Offer complete transparency with financial information to all Legacy Laveen parents.
• Create a more cohesive community between parents, administration and staff.

4. Projects

The Legacy Laveen PTO utilizes projects as a vehicle to support the school and community. Projects are focused on teacher appreciation, community building and volunteerism.

4.1 Teacher and Staff Appreciation

We understand the teachers, administrators, and support staff members are the key contributors to the school’s success. We want the teachers to know we support them and we want to encourage them in their efforts as they invest time and energy in our children’s education and community building.

• Various Teacher Treats/Drinks/Support
• Teacher/Staff Supply Boxes
  • Student/Parent/Business Donation

4.2 Community Building and Volunteerism

The Laveen PTO helps support community building and volunteerism through the events and fundraisers we support. Our goal is to bring the Legacy Laveen community together through these events. We will strive to increase communication with parents and encourage volunteerism through:

• Committees – Different committees will be established throughout the school year to provide support to our school and student.
• Activities and Fundraising
  • Fall Festival
  • Spring Fling/Activity
  • Restaurant Nights
  • Ice Cream Socials
  • FUN Fridays
  • Harkins Summer Movie Fun

4.3 Encourage donations both within the community and with parents

• Business Donations
• Business Sponsorship
• AZ Tax Credit Direct Donations

4.4 Provide planned events to promote parent/student involvement

• Muffins with Moms
• Donuts with Dads
• Field Day (students only)
• Fall Festival
• Spring Fling/Activity

5. Fundraisers

Fundraisers provide the primary source of income for the PTO giving the Laveen PTO the ability to meet its goals and objectives. Some fundraisers are single events while others are yearlong programs. All fundraisers will be designated to fund specific expenses, goals or projects.

5.1 Single Event Fundraisers

5.2 Yearlong Fundraisers

Inner School Funding consists with local store and grocer reward programs that give back a portion of proceeds to the school. The Laveen PTO is involved with the following:

  • Fall Contest (submissions due 11/01/2018)
  • Spring Contest (submissions due 03/01/2019)
  • Bonus App (download from google or apple store, details are updated within the app or on their website)
