Judy Happy
I am a Belle Plaine hometown girl! My ancestors moved to Belle Plaine in 1873 making me the sixth generation from my family in Belle Plaine. My husband and I own and operate a farm just outside of Belle Plaine. We have two grown boys and a daughter-in law. I was a teacher/administrator in the Belle Plaine School District for 33 years. I retired to take care of my parents and help my husband with our farming operation. I was blessed to receive scholarships from the Belle Plaine Community Foundation for my education, and I am excited to serve on the board of directors for this foundation and be able to give back some of that I received.

Robin Macy
After taking a wrong turn, Robin Macy stumbled into Belle Plaine, Kansas by accident and considers it a divine intervention. With her husband, Kentucky White, she writes and performs roots music that harkens to an earlier time, influenced by their on-going work at historic Bartlett Arboretum, the century-old bountiful patch of nature now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Devoting 29 years of teaching high school mathematics, Robin now stewards of a volunteer army of Soil Sisters and Brothers who are committed to creating a sustainable future for the next generation. After nearly 30 years of residency in Belle Plaine, Robin is still eager to roll up her ragged gardening sleeves and jump into community advocacy believing that fabled anthropologist, Margaret Mead, was correct when she said, “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
