Fall Youth Grants
In addition to scholarships, Lanore Bishop's gift provides for a large number of youth projects in the Belle Plaine and Mulvane communities. These projects are funded from Bishop Youth Grants.

Quality Citizen Award
Belle Plaine Community Foundation hosts an annual Quality Citizen Award. This recognizes a person dedicated to serving and enhancing the quality of life in Belle Plaine, Kansas.

Lanore Bishop Education Scholarship
Lanore Bishop left a legacy to the Belle Plaine and Mulvane communities with her gift to the Belle Plaine Community Foundation. Mrs. Bishop funded scholarships for Belle Plaine and Mulvane students who were studying to become teachers.

Ada Lucretia Richardson Miller Scholarship
The Ada Lucretia Richardson Miller Fund is to be used to encourage teaching staff in the Belle Plaine schools to continue their education and training in teacher education. This would include teachers, coaches, and Para professionals.

Ralph & Dorothy Hopper Mathematics Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for graduating seniors enrolled at Belle Plaine High School. Eligible students will have demonstrated a high aptitude in mathematics (as evidenced by classroom performance and test scores such as the ACT). The scholarship recipient will attend a Kansas school for post-secondary education, enroll for at least 12 hours per semester and maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. This scholarship is financially need-based. If there is more than one finalist, then financial need will be the determining factor. Interested students contact the Belle Plaine High School Guidance Office in early spring.

Sammye VanderWall Scholarship
This scholarship will be given to a graduating senior Belle Plaine High School. Eligible students will be interested in pursuing post-secondary studies in the field of art. The student will have shown a special interest and creativity in art and excelled in the area of art. The student will have displayed quality character and citizenship throughout high school and demonstrated care and concern for their academic achievement. The award may be given to a student pursing post-secondary studies in the area of education if no applicant qualifies with regards to pursuit of art. Interested students contact the Belle Plaine High School Guidance Office in early spring.
