Cursive Handwriting

In third grade, students are still required to learn cursive handwriting. At Leesville, we use a program called Handwriting Without Tears. Each student will get their own cursive handwriting workbook. The Handwriting Without Tears program teaches cursive using a "magic c" technique. Most of the letters are formed using the "magic c". In addition, the cursive style is similar to letters in print. Students will focus on one lowercase letter each day, until all the letters are mastered. Once we have learned all of the cursive letters we will start using cursive writing in class.
