Jaansi Parsa

Jaansi has been heavily involved with the Dunbar math team since she was a freshman, devoting hundreds of hours to leading divisions, coaching teams, creating practice resources, and tutoring. Jaansi is looking forward to sharing her love for competition math with her teammates and other students across the district by helping to run MAO as president this year and also serving as the state’s student Vice President. Besides math and education, her passions include reading, figure skating, adding to her fuzzy sock collection, and singing really off-pitch karaoke with her friends.

Andrew Chuang Saladin

Andrew has been part of the Dunbar Math Team since 2018 where he has found family, ignited his passion for math, and developed his character. In his senior year, Andrew is excited spearhead organizational initiatives and help build a stronger foundation for the future of the team as well as organizations across the region. Apart from Math Team, Andrew loves programming, tinkering, and exploring.

Nathaniel Caves

Nathaniel Caves is a Junior at Dunbar High School who has been a part of the Math Team for three years. He has competed in Algebra 2 and statistics and will compete in pre-calculus this year. As one of the directors of finance, Nathaniel hopes to bring money to the Math Team through donations and sponsorships to help competitors pay for their Statewide and National trips. Outside of Math Team Nathaniel is interested in music, video games, and American football.

Brenna Hiss

Brenna Hiss is a new Junior at Dunbar High School, having only moved in the past year. It is her first year in Math Team and she is very eager to compete in pre-calculus this year. Brenna’s goals as one of the directors of finance are not only to raise funds for various endeavors, but to also make the community more aware of Dunbar’s Math Team as a whole, via corporate sponsorships. Besides Math Team, Brenna enjoys singing, making music, reading, and discussing her favorite movies.

Jakob Musich

Jakob has been involved in math team since the beginning of 6th grade, and has continued to participate and enjoy competitive math team events through to his junior year. As treasurer for the 2022-2023 season, he will monitor event registration, handle communication with sponsors, and keep track of contact information, as well as developing and maintaining the website alongside the secretary.

Nishini Fernando

Nishini is a sophomore at Dunbar High School and has been involved with the math team since middle school, competing in competitions like AMCs, MathCounts and Mu Alpha Theta. Nishini is eager to share her love for math by recording videos to help prepare students for math competitions. Besides math, her passions include conducting science research, spending time outside and playing the alto saxophone.

Isabel Liu

Isabel Liu is a senior at Dunbar High School. She considers herself a certified veteran nerd, having been with the Dunbar Math Team since sixth grade. She finds joy in sharing her passion with others! When not doing math, she can be found getting into some kind of crafty mischief with or without certain accomplices which shall remain unnamed.
