YES! ALL students, center or non, interested in string instruments are welcome to participate in the Orchestra and Guitar Program. We have many different levels and opportunities from beginning to advanced. Our program meets you where you're at and ensures that you are set up for success to grow as a musician and individual. Contact us or talk to your guidance counselor about getting yourself registered for a string class.
Students that commit to a String concentration are immersed in classes that expand their musical knowledge and provide them with unique and specialized center-only opportunities. Our Majors play every day, receive individual instruction, and advance much faster! They have gone on to study Music Education, Performance, Technology, and Therapy as well as Law, Business, Medicine, Engineering, Mechanics, serve in the Military, etc. while continuing to play music as their passion. Our focus is to develop the "whole" individual; academically, socially, emotionally, and musically.
Absolutely! We know that oftentimes our students are interested and talented in multiple arts disciplines. We have structured our program so that String majors CAN and are encouraged to participate in other center departments.
