Some of our recent international collaborations

GO! Atheneum Brakel, together with 4 other partner countries, has set up an Erasmus+ KA226 coöperation agreement with the theme “Digital Readiness for European Distance Learning” (DIGI.R.E.DI.L). This European collaboration between our school and other secondary schools from Greece, Portugal, Iceland, and Serbia will last 24 months.

The participating teachers have experience in ICT and distance learning, use the eTwinning platform and are open to innovation and renewal. This “special call KA226” was an additional call from the Erasmus+ program of the European Union to meet the specific needs in education as a result of COVID.

The main objective of this international cooperation is to strengthen the digital competencies of teachers and students through new software, tools, methods that can be used to make distance learning quality and effective.

The partner schools will share their knowledge and experience in ICT education and jointly develop didactic material. This material will be tested in a virtual environment but also in the classroom. The designed material will be made available through the eTwinning platform, a blog, digital newspapers and an e-book. These examples of good practice can be shared between the schools of different countries and benefit teaching practice.

In addition, there are other objectives that are important for the participating schools to pursue through this project, in particular strengthening international identity, strengthening networks between schools, tolerance, cultural identity and civic responsibility.

Six intensive training weeks will be organized in the various partner countries. During the training courses, teachers from different schools will be able to follow courses on different themes in which the schools are strong, such as Lego Mindstorms, Moodle, inclusive education, self-directed learning, 3D designing, laser cutting, ... and the application possibilities in distance learning.
