The Parliament UK website provides information about the Parliament of the UK, its business, MPs, Lords and offices, and much more, including legal and law-related information, such as bills, Hansard, parliamentary committee publications, research briefings, etc.

The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary website provides information about the judiciary and the justice system and access to judgments from the various courts.

The EU law page on the European Union website provides useful information about primary and secondary EU law and finding EU legislation and case-law.

AccessToLaw is a gateway site, maintained by the team of information professionals on the staff of the Inner Temple Library in London, that provides annotated links to selected UK, Commonwealth and worldwide legal web sites. Over 1300 sites are currently included.

Archives and museums sites

The Archives Hub brings together descriptions of thousands of the UK’s archive collections. Representing nearly 300 institutions across the country, the Archives Hub is an effective way to discover unique and often little-known sources to support your research.

Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music and more. Its purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format.

Europeana Collections is a portal of thousands of artworks, artefacts, books, videos and sounds from institutions across Europe.

Public information sites

The Citizens Advice service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to UK citizens on their rights and responsibilities. Its website provides information on law and rights, healthcare, education, benefits, tax, housing, debt and money, relationships, work, discrimination, consumer rights, and more.

The Leeds Observatory website provides access to a wide range of information and intelligence about communities in Leeds. The website is provided as a free resource and updated and maintained by Leeds City Council.

Statistical data sites

Eurostat provides information on EU general and regional statistics, population and social conditions, economy and finance, industry, trade and services, environment and energy, science and technology and more.

The Office for National Statistics is the UK's largest independent producer of official statistics and its recognised national statistical institute. It is responsible for collecting and publishing statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels.

GOV.UK provides access to Government services and information. Official statistics are produced impartially and free from political influence.

The UK Data Archive is the curator of the largest collection of digital data in the social sciences and humanities in the UK. With several thousand datasets relating to society, both historical and contemporary, the Archive is a vital resource for researchers, teachers and learners.

Researcher networks

Academia.edu is a free to join platform for academics to share research papers. Academics use Academia.edu to share their research, monitor deep analytics around the impact of their research, and track the research of academics they follow.

ResearchGate is a free to join networking site for scientists and researchers. Its mission is to connect researchers and make it easy for them to share and access scientific output, knowledge, and expertise.
