Team Specific Resources

Please find your student's specific team to learn more about their specific teacher's homework schedule and general tips for student success on their team.

East Carolina Pirates

Mr. Garner, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Rouse, & Mr. Schneider

Homework Schedule

Students will only have homework if they do not finish a classroom assignment for the day. Check PowerSchool parent portal to ensure your child doesn’t have any missing work resulting in a zero grade.

Tips for Success

Mr. Garner - Please check your student's agenda; they should have a daily record of what we do in class. Students should complete any missing work for homework

Mrs. Rouse- Please check your student’s agenda each day, as well as their Google Classroom for what we are doing in class. When a student is absent, please complete the assignments on Google Classroom as soon as possible to stay caught up.

Mr. Schneider - Students should fill out their agenda everyday and use their time wisely in class. What they don't complete in class needs to be completed at home so they are prepared for the next day.

Mrs. Graham - Students should fill out their Agenda each day in homeroom so parents can check that to see what we are working on daily.

High Point Panthers

Mr. Adams, Mrs. Ashby, Mrs. Keesee, & Mrs. Simmons

Homework Schedule

Students are given class time to work on and complete assignments.

The expectation is that work is finished during this time.

Check PowerSchool for missing and incomplete assignments frequently to stay caught up. Complete all assignments before final due date.

Tips for Success

Mr. Adams -Students should finish work that is not completed in class. All notes can be found on Google Classroom. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Mrs. Ashby- Links to all assignments, help videos, and notes are posted in Google Classroom. If students do not understand, they can email me or privately message me in Go Formative. Students can work on iReady at home to learn, progress, and improve their current math level.

Mrs. Simmons: All notes are posted in Google Classroom. Students can review their personal notes and add their own thoughts and questions.

Mrs. Keesee - All work should be completed in class, unless a student did not finish. Please see me during class or homeroom with any questions. You can always READ at home and work on your i-Ready Reading lessons to increase fluency and comprehension.

Western Carolina Catamounts

Mrs. Ewing, Mrs. Fling, Mr. Guin, & Mrs. Harris

Homework Schedule

After learning something, our memory will decline over time unless we review it. The more review, the stronger we make the memory, the longer we remember it. When exposed to the same material repeatedly, it takes less time to pull the information from long term memory. Therefore, students should study their learning materials from home on a routine basis. At times, students may need to complete an unfinished classwork assignment at home. Know that time is provided daily to write classwork details in agendas. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the appropriate content area teacher for support.

Beginning in November, all students will be provided with a Homework Reading Passage to complete. Students will receive the Passage on Monday and have until Thursday to submit it. Students are expected to annotate their passages and provide textual evidence for their answers.

Tips for Success

Students should use the UNWRAP strategy. The UNWRAP reading strategy gives students a "game plan" to tackle answering questions from fiction passages and informational articles. The strategy provides students with a solid routine to read the text and answer the corresponding questions.

Support your student by helping them keep their backpack and binder “In Check.” Organization is the key to success. Check PowerSchool for missing and incomplete assignments frequently. Know that links to most assignments, help videos, and notes are posted in each Google Classroom.

Please note that Mrs. Harris is out on mandatory leave until January 2024.  Please email Mrs. Reed (7th grade AP) with any concerns.
