NCRA has announced state winners for its Young Authors Writing and Art competition. See below for our chapter winners!
Local Young Authors school and county winners have been announced and are listed below. The entries of our county winners were submitted to the state and have been judged. We await the results and anticipate hearing from the state sometime in January.
This year's LCRA theme:
" Going For the Gold in Writing and Literacy".

Paid members may have their students participate in this exciting opportunity. Follow the guidelines for successful entries. All entrants must complete a permission form signed by a parent.

Local YA Judging: Thursday, November 7, 2024 - 3:00 Virtually; The more volunteers we have, the faster the judging will go. This is a wonderful chance to see a variety of writing styles and abilities.

Lily will be attending Warren Wilson College in the fall. She plans to focus on English and looks forward to a career in journalism. Lily is currently a paid intern for The Rant and conducts interviews and writes articles for them.

Alison will be attending Appalachian State University in the fall. She plans to become a special education teacher and then later segue into either a guidance or social worker position.
