Sports Programs for Students attending Ledyard High School Next Year
First day of School for 2025-26 is Thursday August 28th.
About Say Something ARS: The Say Something ARS program empowers students, teachers, and administrators to recognize and report signs of potential safety concerns—whether they occur at school, on social media, or in the community. This system provides a confidential way to share concerns and ensure timely intervention when needed.
How It Works:
Recognizing Warning Signs – Students and staff will be trained to identify concerning behaviors and potential threats.
Taking Immediate Action – The system provides students with the ability to report concerns anonymously through a website, mobile app, or hotline.
24/7 Access to Support – A Crisis Center is available at all times to receive and respond to reports.
Ongoing Awareness Efforts – Schools will incorporate the program into student discussions, awareness campaigns, and activities throughout the year.
Training & Accessibility: To ensure students and staff are well-equipped to use the system, all students and staff will receive training on how to recognize and report concerns appropriately. Additionally, a direct access bookmark to the Say Something ARS platform will be added to all school-issued devices, making it easier for students to use the system when needed.
Resources for Parents & Caregivers: We recognize that parents and caregivers play a crucial role in school safety efforts. To help you better understand how you can support this initiative, please review the “My Role as a Parent or Caregiver” program brochure. This resource provides information on how to talk to your child about recognizing warning signs, taking action, and encouraging them to use the Say Something ARS system responsibly.
Why This Matters: Students often have insight into situations that may not be immediately visible to adults. This program gives them a safe and anonymous way to share concerns and seek help when they see warning signs. It’s an important tool in fostering a supportive school environment where students look out for one another.
How to Learn More: If you have any questions about the Say Something ARS program, please feel free to reach out to your school principal or my office. Your partnership in promoting a safe and supportive school environment is invaluable, and we appreciate your engagement in this effort.
