Google District

Lebanon City Schools is a Google district. That means that we use GSuite for Education tools for teaching and learning. Your student will type their work on Google Docs, create multimedia presentations on Google Slides, and learn through a portal called Google Classroom. There are other tools we will explore like Google Sheets, Google Drawings and Google Sites. Your child's teacher will use these tools to create and deliver lessons and your child will use those same tools to show what they have learned. Since we are a Google district, your child will need to know how to login to a Google Chrome browser to be able to access the tools they need for school. Most of the resources they access will then either be found under the Google Apps finder (the waffle) or in Clever.

In order for students to access school resources like Google Classroom, BrainPop, MindPlay, MobyMax and Discovery Streaming, students have to be logged into the Chrome Browser with their school district email and password.

Logging in to a School District Chromebook

Login to Google Classroom from a school district issued Chromebook:

  • The login to the Chromebook will be with the student's school district email account. The email account is made up of the student's last name, a period, first name, and last two digits of the graduation year. This is all typed in before the @lebanonschools.org. It will be typed in as lastname.firstname23 Example: doe.john25 or smith.mary30

  • The password is capital LCS and the student ID number (your child knows this as their lunch code. If you are unsure of this number, you can see it if you login to Progressbook.

Shared Chromebooks?

If the Chromebook is shared between multiple family members, the student must make sure to sign out any other users and then sign in with their district account.

Logging in to Chrome on a computer or laptop

Since we are a Google district, your student will need to use a Chrome browser to access school district resources to complete their school work. If you own a Mac or Windows computer, you might need to download Chrome for your computer. To learn more about this, click on this link. Once you have Chrome downloaded or open, follow the steps in the image or watch the video to see how to have your student login to Google Chrome.
