Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the method in which your child's teacher (grades 3-12) will be assigning and collecting school work. Students sign into Classroom to access their assignments. These assignments might be as simple as reading some content and responding to questions. Or, they might include videos and external links to websites that the students are expected to interact with. They can also complete activities within Google Classroom since it supports Google Docs and Slides. Think of it as a one-stop-shop for learning. Your student will not be able to access Google Classroom unless they are signed in to Google Chrome. If you are not sure how to help them login to Chrome, click here.

What Can Parents see in Classroom?

Short answer. Nothing! To see what is happening in Classroom, you can do one of two things:

  1. Login to Chrome with your student's school district account and take a peek.

  2. Give your student's teacher your email address and ask them to add you as a guardian in Google Classroom. You will then begin to get digest emails that will let you know what work has been assigned and if your student is missing any assignment.

Students, on the other hand, have a rich learning experience when they are logged into Classroom. Take a look at the video to below to see what a student will see when they are logged into Classroom.
