Interim benchmark assessments support educators in ways that lagging indicators, such as a Missouri Assessment Program test score, can't. These benchmarks inform teachers about student growth and achievement in real-time, allowing educators to modify instruction for students immediately.

Districts use one of several approved Interim Assessment tools to measure the impact of instruction on student learning. This impact is identified as either status (performance at a point in time) or growth (performance over a specific period of time). The Interim Assessments help inform students of their progress in understanding grade level standards and support teachers in providing effective instruction.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an online assessment tool for grades K–8 that helps teachers evaluate students' reading and math skills. The assessment is adaptive, meaning it adjusts the difficulty of questions based on how well the student answers. The questions are designed to measure a student's knowledge and skills in specific areas, such as reading comprehension, vocabulary, and algebraic thinking. The assessment includes multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and drag and drop questions. Kindergarten through 8th grade students take the i-Ready assessment three times a year.
For 9-12th grades, we use NWEA interim assessments to inform students of their learning progress and support teachers in effective instruction.
End-of-course assessments are taken when a student has received instruction on the Missouri Learning Standards for an assessment, regardless of grade level. All EOC assessments are available only online unless accommodations are provided to meet the student's best needs. The end-of-course assessment scores below include English II, Algebra I, Biology, and Government.
