DashPass - Automated Dismissal

​This school year, TLC is implementing DashPass at all our school sites. DashPass is a secured, automated mobile platform that streamlines the pick-up process. Using patented technology, DashPass automatically notifies teachers and staff that the student is ready to be picked up. This will be used for our Hybrid Program students on class days.

Parents will receive an email invitation to log in and download the app on August 7. A flyer with additional information is attached.

Learn more by watching this introduction video or reviewing the FAQ. Additional resources and information are available on TLC's website (parent portal, forms, and DashPass). This new tool will allow a safer and more efficient dismissal experience for our K-12 families.

School Meal Program 

This year, all school lunch and breakfast will be free regardless of your free or reduced lunch status as part of a federal aid package. Students onsite for the hybrid program will receive lunches each day they are onsite (3 days a week in La Mesa and San Diego; and 2 days in Chula Vista). TLC's lunches are provided by Top Notch Catering from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You can view the monthly lunch menu on our website. 

Picture Day

Save the Date —Picture Day at all TLC school sites is Tuesday, September 17. Make-up Picture Day will be on Monday, October 28.

All students should attend picture day to receive their free TLC student ID card and yearbook photo. TLC can only use picture day photos in the yearbook.

TLC uses Studio 1 for our portraits. Visit their FAQ page for answers to common questions. A digital flyer will be shared when school starts. Packages are optional to purchase.

Welcome Back Event

Splash Back to School - Free

TLC families can attend a special event at the Plunge in Belmont Park to enjoy swimming, the giant inflatable obstacle course, photo ops, water games, and nonstop fun! Stay cool as you head back to school and spend the day playing at the beach. Please complete the online waiver prior to attending. 

Sand Castle Building - Free

Build the castle of your dreams as you learn the best tips and tricks from professional sand castle builders. Your family can join a 30-minute session to build a sand castle. We won't be turning over some little baby buckets; we'll be doing seriously LEGIT and AWESOME professional sand castle building with hard-core tools, equipment, and techniques. It's first-rate fun for families. Limited space available. 

Mini-Golf Add on - $7 per person.

Hit the Tiki-Town Mini Golf course. With surprises and challenges at every twist and turn, no adventure will be the same as you travel through the tropical course. Get a hole-in-one at hole 18, and you’ll get a free $5 power card to the arcade! Play one round of mini-golf on the 18-hole course during park hours on the event day. This is not a private event, and the golf course is still open to the public, but the group rate is significantly discounted for our families.

Chromebook Insurance

A flyer is attached to learn more about purchasing insurance for your school Chromebook. Insurance is only $29.95 for the year and is not required but highly recommended. Visit the website to purchase insurance, review frequently asked questions, or get support 24/7. This information can also be found on our website (parents/technology tab). 

Electronic Sign-in at School Sites

As a reminder, all adults will need to have a visitor's pass when on campus. Rapture program scans your driver’s license, runs a background check, and prints a visitor pass sticker to wear. Please remember to electronically sign in at the office anytime you are on campus. Thank you for helping us put school safety first and following our sign-in procedure.
