Typically, we complete one unit of math, followed by one unit of science, and then alternate back and forth throughout the year. A number of activities and projects will have a cross-curricular focus, combining skills from math and science, and even other disciplines!
Although math emphasizes Computational Fluency and science deals with Scientific Knowledge and Processes, there are other competencies that overlap both areas. These include: Analyzing & Reasoning, Communicating & Representing, and Connecting & Synthesizing. Furthermore, Reflective Feedback and Self & Peer Assessment will be utilized throughout the STEM curriculum.
