Watch for helpful hints on what those feelings in our bodies might be telling us, and a way to cope with them by drawing our emotions and where we are feeling them the most. Grab a piece of paper, crayons or markers, scissors, glue and construction paper to help you out with this task.
What a GREAT way to use ZONES while at home to check in as a family to see how you are feeling is to use LEGO and create your own family out of "LEGO people" and use BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW & RED base plates to represent the ZONES colours! You can move your LEGO person around to the ZONE you are in at that moment. If you see your child has moved theirs, then ask them 1) why they have found themselves in that colour & what happened to get them into that colour, and 2) ask them what strategies they can use to move back to the desired GREEN (calm) zone?
Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
