Start Up 2025

1. Administrative Duties

• Do Attendance on Paper (it will be provided on a colored sheet)

• Ask around for absent students (provide any information you have heard to office staff)

• Timetables

  • Go over timetables so student know where to go after CREW (see opening day procedures document for details)

• Give Handouts to students 

  • ex: school fees, newsletters, student verification forms, handbook/calendar

2. Go over School Expectations

• Cell Phone Policy (click here if you wish to see the document)

  • In summary, students are required to power off their cell phones upon entering the building each morning. Devices must be stored in lockers and remain there until students leave at the end of the day. If parents need to contact their child during school hours, they are kindly requested to do so through the school office.

• Arriving Late Procedures (Check in with office to get a late slip)

• Leaving Early Procedures (Sign out at office)

• Breakfast Club - Located in the cafeteria every morning starting at 8:30 am.  Students can enter the school by the cafeteria doors to access breakfast club.  Reminder that hallways are not open, just the cafeteria.

4. Lunch Time Options

1. • • • Hot Lunch will be available (BUT you must pre-order, you cannot buy the day of)

       • Upstairs hallway is off limits for eating

       • Students are encouraged to be outside.  Swings, outdoor equipment is available

       • Gym is open for basketball most of the days

       • In the Winter - Auditorium is open for play

       • Cafeteria will be open the entire lunch (students are encouraged to use this space for eating)

       • As a school we want to encourage the use of the cafeteria for eating to keep students together, cleaning to a minimum, and more school culture

       • Library is open from 12:35 - 1:08 for reading or school work.  It's closed for the first 15 minutes for students to eat before coming to the library as there is NO EATING in the library!

5. PLEASE NOTE: 

• There is NO physical tour in CREW.  Tours can be given to new students that need help on a case by case basis or in CORE classes by those teachers who wish to do so.  Grade 6's have had 2 tours of the school.  

6. Band Room 

• Unfortunately due to a water leak over the summer the band room is unaccessible.  If you are in Band, you will be headed to the Auditorium for this class.
