Airplane Challenge
Paper Airplane Competition Rules
TASK:
Design and build a paper airplane using ANY size of paper and any extra materials (NO drones this year). Airplanes should be decorated with your house colors and a “theme” of your CREW class.
Your airplane will be judge on three categories at the Halloween Assembly on October 31st
The distance it can fly
The accuracy it has
The way it looks
During the Halloween Assembly:
Before the throwing challenges begin, the airplanes will be judged on their design (aesthetics) by neutral judges. The top three designs will win 100 points each
One student from each CREW class will line up on the baseline of the basketball court to be judged on DISTANCE. On the count of 3, everyone will throw their paper airplane. The goal is to go as far as possible. The top 3 win house points (First gets 500 - Second gets 250 - Third gets100).
A different student from each CREW class gets the paper airplane and goes into the bleachers to be judged on ACCURACY. They must throw their paper airplane and get it as close to the hula hoop as possible. The hula hoop will be in the center of the gym. If you get it in the hula hoop, you will automatically win 1000 house points. Top 3 closest wins (First gets 500 - Second gets 250 - Third gets100).
