Global Changemaker:
How can students at Dr. Knox learn more about the world?
Sarah followed a design thinking model to survey and research the student body at Dr. Knox to discover what she felt was an issue in our school community. She wondered if middle-school students had enough education about other countries, cultures, and people.
Throughout our learning journey, Sarah decided to take it upon herself to be a changemaker and educate others on Islamophobia. She educated others on what Islamophobia is, what the issues are, and how we can all help to bring about change.
Empathy Interviews to assess the issues in our school and what the student body wants/needs.

"When conducting my research, I found what I needed right away and read from multiple sources to make sure the info was accurate. I found different perspectives, people who think differently, I saw some myths and misconceptions that lots of people have and their reasons. Then I looked at the facts, which were explanations from Muslims. I included in my presentation “script” what it’s like for Muslims and their view on the matter and I mention the government; how they struggle to understand if it even exists." ~ Sarah
